Biomes Project
Directions & Grading
See the first two slides in the template attached to the assignment on Google Classroom.
Example projects about the Temperate Forest Biome:
See links on the 2nd slide in the template attached to the assignment on Google Classroom.
Sources used for the example "Temperate Forest" projects in case you want to learn more:

- PBS- Temperate Deciduous Forest (slide 11 and 12)

- extra time? check out: Virtual Reality Tour (I can only get it to work from a computer, not a phone... but it's cool!)
Biome World Map
Map and description from ASU Ask A Biologist website.
HHMI Interactive Biome Map
Check out the BiomeViewer on the HHMI Biointeractive website.
How to use it: See the video to the right for a demo. It's not very mobile-friendly, so I recommend using it on a computer. Click on the names of the biomes on the list to see a summary of them. Click and drag the globe to turn it to see where biomes are. You can also click on locations on the globe to get a snapshot of the biome there. A panel will pop up on the right with a climatogram of temperatures and precipitation, as well as an animal information. If you click on the "i" circle for "more" it opens up a TON of more info about the biome- what it's like to live there and information about species of animals living there. Under the "Wildlife" tab, click on "reptiles", "mammals", and "amphibians" to get a list of them to learn more about. |
